Position Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to provide proactive services to the Pella Corporation Information Technology department and its related functions. The incumbent will strive to understand the business and the factors of success in the industry. With that base of understanding, this person will manage and implement projects that will improve Pella’s information technology systems processes.  Responsibilities will be similar to what we expect of entry-level IT professionals who join Pella after graduating.

Responsibilities

 

Areas of Opportunity Include:

Systems Engineer Intern

  • Microsoft Infrastructure - Executing projects with Pella's Windows server environment, desktop computing solutions, and/or key end-user computing initiatives. Emphasis is on Microsoft infrastructure solutions (Windows Server 2012, Windows 7 & 8, Exchange, Active Directory, Systems Center Manager 2012, SQL 2012)
  • Unix, Linux and Storage Administration – Several of Pella's core business systems reside on Unix & Linux servers. Projects in this area include hardware/software setup and installation, enhancements to management processes, and/or operational support issues. This group additionally supports storage area networking.
  • Communication Services - Supporting or designing solutions for Pella’s LAN, WAN, Video, and Voice networks. Emphasis is on Cisco networking equipment and software solutions.

 

 Business Analyst Intern

  • This position provides the opportunity to work individually or as part of a team in the design, development, and implementation of business systems, which support all areas of the business. This position will work with a variety of Oracle applications and will have the opportunity to learn about the business in which the systems support.

 

 Technical Analyst Intern

  • This position provides the opportunity to work individually or as part of a team in the design and development of business systems. This position will have the opportunity to learn Oracle development tools used to support core applications.  The position will also learn about development methodologies used and change control processes used to manage the development process.

Qualifications

 

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a B.S. from a four-year college or university in an information technology field, preferable MIS or Computer Science
  • Strong academic candidate
  • Experience with team leadership and teamwork, especially outside the classroom
  • Ability to use the following software applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and other applications.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to technical and non-technical personnel utilizing written and verbal skills, including presentations to small and large groups
  • Ability to learn new technology and/or new languages quickly
  • Experience managing projects from conception through implementation
  • Ability to be successful in a fast-paced team-based work environment
