Job Description  

Summary

This position provides technical assistance to computer and network system users on a variety of technical issues including troubleshooting support, training, new systems installation and configuration.  Responsible for shop floor device configuration and support (computers, scales, scanners, phones, printers).  Ensure users and computers meet requirements according to Corporate Policies & Standards.  Generate and maintain accurate records for SOX.  

 

Essential Functions

  • Work safely. Adhere to all company and regulatory EH&S policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all Company 6-S initiatives and policies.
  • Respond to requests for information technology technical help & support to resolve problems.
  • Document, log, track, and monitor problems in help desk application to ensure a timely resolution.
  • Configure, install and repair hardware, software, and peripheral equipment including operating systems and appropriate software.
  • Collect IT Sox evidence for quarterly audits
  • Read technical manuals, confer with IT staff, and conduct computer diagnostics, to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support.
  • As authorized, set up users in G2 MES and Active Directory with appropriate access to G2 MES and network resources.
  • Configure and troubleshoot shop floor hardware including scales, label printers, scanners, computers
  • Assist in user training in the proper use of system hardware or software.
  • Ensure workstation and user ITC compliance according to Corporate IT Policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience

High school diploma with desire to pursue a certification or degree in Information Technology or a related field of study.

 

Skills

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills including the ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Instructional skills – ability to teach others.
  • Adaptability – open to new ways and change in technology to address work related issues or problems.
  • Familiar with MS Office products.
  • Drive and initiative.

Additional Notes

  • Occasional work required outside normal business hours.

 

Physical Dimensions

Physical Demands – Must be able to frequently remain in a stationary position. Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, scanner/copier, and printer.
