Maintenance Summer Intern
Typically, a full-time student attending a university who works part time during the school year and full time during the summer in their chosen field, or a full-time student that takes a semester off from school to work full time in their chosen field, including Manufacturing, Engineering, IT, Environmental Health and Safety, Accounting, etc.
What You Will Do:
- The Maintenance Intern will work alongside our Vallen Rep and Maintenance Planner to consolidate and organize our MRO Crib.
- The project will entail relocation of parts to better organize part family, inventory of all parts, Verification of part number and part description, and accurate recording of parts including pictures into our Maintenance Management Software
- Use of Computer to look up and Identify parts
What You Need To Succeed
- Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering degree path
- Must be self-motivated
- General Computer Skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc)
- Follow safety regulations; keep work areas and equipment clean and orderly using 5S standards
- Flexibility to work overtime as required
- Perform tasks in a timely and accurate manner
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, schedules, rules, procedures, etc.
- General knowledge of machinery
- Basic math, computer, and measuring skills
- May perform other duties as assigned and extend into other areas as needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift up to 60 pounds, and rarely lift over 60 pounds. Any lifts over 35 pounds should be done with assistance.
- Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit, frequently and for extended periods of time
- Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
- Ability to operate industrial powered equipment within manufacturer’s height and weight requirements and guidelines for operators
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Exposure to temperature changes
- Exposure to moderate noise levels with intermittent loud noises
- Exposure to dirt and/or dust
- Exposure to sharp objects and parts
