ZFS Select Seed Intern
Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting in the development, marketing, and sales of ZFS Select Seed program and related activities and assists customers in obtaining more efficient production, higher yield, and improved quality. This position is not a scouting or crop consulting position. Full time position, up to 40 hours a week from approximately May to August of 2024.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the promotion of the ZFS Select Seed sales.
- Follows all procedures and policies to meet the requirements of CERT-ID EU non-GMO certification.
- Assists in the management of the ZFS Select Seed ales and non-GMO program.
- Estimates date of delivery of products to customers based on knowledge of ZFS delivery schedules and assures on-time delivery.
- Collects returns and mages supply inventories
- Conducts summer visits and assessments
- Assists in end of the year seed reconciliation
- Conducts and processes Farm Surveys
- Perform other related tasks as may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience:
- Education: Currently enrolled in Ag Business, Crop Science, or other Agriculture related degree program
- Experience: Less than 3 years
- Experience mixing feed products preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Currently enrolled in Ag Business, Crop Science, or other Agriculture related degree program
- Valid Driver’s license. CDL license preferred but not required.
- Comfortable in hauling a 16-foot deck over trailer.
- Experience in Forklift operation and able to obtain license.
- Candidates must have their own transportation to and from the worksite, as most of the work locations are situated in areas with no public transportation available
- Ability to build relationships and work well in a team-based environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Self-motivated with a strong results orientation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a deadline while being able to focus on details
- Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to organize (thoughts, data, etc)
- Excellent computer skills related to data acquisition and record keeping
- Desire to learn and willing to ask questions and able to adapt to change.
- Ability to maintain good attendance habits.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- The employee is frequently required to walk.
- The employee is occasionally required to climb to levels of 125 feet as well as balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- While outside the office, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat or cold temperatures; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
