2025 University Recruiting – Precision Genetics, Bioinformatics Intern

The Future Talent Program within our Research & Development Division Data, AI, and Genome Sciences (DAGS) Department is offering internships that last 10-12 weeks. We have 2 open positions in the Precision Genetics group. Candidates can apply for the opportunity to be involved in one or more of the projects listed below. The projects are designed to enable students to further develop their skills and to evaluate if we are the right company for their long-term goals. We are seeking highly motivated and talented students with computational skillsets.

 

Precision Genetics (2 positions, preferred Cambridge MA, will consider remote) potential projects include:

Analysis of large-scale human genetic and genomic datasets to facilitate discovery of novel targets and biomarkers of disease risk and progression

Participate in the development of statistical and computational methods/pipelines to analyze genetic and genomic datasets.

Work within an integrated team supporting validation efforts, including bioinformatic analysis of bulk and single-cell sequencing.

 

Required Education and Skills:

Candidates must be currently enrolled in a minimum of a Bachelor's degree program in Biological Sciences or a related field of study. Students enrolled in graduate programs (MS or PhD) are highly encouraged to apply.

Candidates must be available to work full-time for 9-12 weeks beginning in May or June of 2024.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Candidates must have excellent academic achievement and analytical ability.

Candidates must have demonstrated superior communication and interpersonal skills and must be able to work well in a collaborative team environment.

Candidates may have interests/experience in ANY of the fields of molecular biology, oncology, immunology, cardiometabolism, ophthalmology, neuroscience, cell biology, or bioinformatics.

Specific skill sets could include one or more of the following: experience with R or Python programming languages, analysis of bulk or single cell datasets, analysis of other high-throughput screening modalities.

 

Under New York City, Colorado State, Washington State, and California State law, the Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected salary range:

$39,600.00-$105,500.00
