Financial Development Program Intern - Summer 2025

As a GE Appliances Financial Development Program Intern, you’ll complete a 10 to 12-week project-oriented work assignment that offers hands-on finance experience, exposure to strategic initiatives, and lessons in the role finance plays in achieving business objectives. You’ll develop project management, business acumen, and communication skills over the course of your summer with us. This internship could also lead to placement in the GE Appliances Financial Development Program (FDP) upon graduation.

How You'll Create Possibilities

  • Makes a lasting impact on the business through a summer project, which solves an existing problem within the GE Appliances organization.
  • Networks with key Finance leaders and members of our Finance Development Program.
  • Works within an operational finance team to provide information and analysis to support business partners.
  • Participates in monthly and quarterly Close activities.
  • Creates process documentation where applicable.
  • Performs General ledger research and variance analysis.
  • Interviews for placement in the 2026 class of the GE Appliances Finance Development Program, a 3-year rotational program for college graduates in which they gain exposure to different areas of the business, obtain an MBA, and accelerate their careers.

The ideal candidate for this position has the following Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Independent Task Management: Demonstrates the capability to autonomously set objectives and prioritize tasks effectively to align with project or assignment goals.
  • Problem Solving Proficiency: Exhibits adeptness in resolving challenging problems that may not be highly complex, utilizing analytical skills and practical knowledge of the assignment area.
  • Influential Communication: Possesses the ability to influence others within the assignment area through clear and concise communication of facts, policies, and practices, fostering cooperation and alignment towards shared objectives.
  • Professional Productivity: Maintains a consistent track record of productivity and contribution, capable of delivering results while working independently under moderate supervision.
  • Continuous Learning and Development: Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing professional growth and development, actively seeking opportunities to expand skills and knowledge relevant to the assignment.

 

Educational and Experiential Background:

  • Must be full-time rising Senior (May 2025 graduation date) currently enrolled in 4 year-college or university program pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, or related field.
  • Must hold and maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 out of 4.0 overall grade point average.
  • Prior internship experience preferred.

 

Notes:

  • This is a full-time Internship, beginning in May ending in August.
  • Internship is carried out at GE Appliances Park, located in Louisville, KY.
  • Legal authorization to work in the country/region where the business is hiring is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now nor in the future, for this internship.
