POSITION TITLE: 2025 Information Security Intern
DEPARTMENT: Global Technology Organization (GTO)
Federated Hermes Internship Program provides students the opportunity to gain “hands on” experience and develop professional skills as well as the ability to network with talented professionals and gain insight into career possibilities within the asset management industry. The program includes a variety of events to enhance your internship experience, provide information about the firm and foster collaboration.
Major Duties:
Work in cooperation with Federated Hermes’ GTO Information Security team to:
- Monitor and review alerts, conducting investigations and working with internal customers as needed.
- Conduct analysis of the departmental Product Position Documents (PPDs). This includes reviewing for any known risks or security considerations.
- Review existing software to determine that Malware was not introduced in our environment via upgrades.
- Generate and analyze reports.
- Conduct research on security related items and topics.
Hours/Location:
- 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday during the summer or
- Up to 15 hours a week Monday - Friday during the school year
- Opportunities available in Pittsburgh and Warrendale locations (hybrid work arrangement)

Position Specifications:
- Currently pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree in Information Systems, Information Security or comparable oriented program required
- IT experience or relevant coursework in information security required
- Course work and/or hands-on exposure to Security tools, such as vulnerability scanners, ticketing systems, endpoint detection tools, firewalls, network routers and switches, Microsoft Office and understanding of basic technical principles
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, required
- Familiarity with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) discipline or other IT best practice model is preferred
