American Red Cross Michigan Region Communications Internship
Internship Opportunity
What to Know
WHAT: This internship opportunity provides on-the-job learning in external and internal communications at the world’s leading humanitarian nonprofit organization. Key responsibilities include writing blog features, social media posts, pitch notes and press releases as needed; interviewing and photographing blood donors and blood donor recipients; assisting with the daily management of the Michigan Region’s social media accounts, and collaborating on events, projects and stories.

Our five-day hybrid work model involves working at our Detroit Chapter or Kalamazoo Chapter two days a week.

WHO: Eligible candidates are students in good academic standing, enrolled in a
four-year degree program and entering their junior or senior year, or a recent graduate, with a major in communications, journalism or public relations. The internship does not have to be completed for class credit. However, to qualify as an intern, the individual must be currently enrolled in a degree program.
WHEN: The hybrid work model is 20-30 hours per week. Internship duration will run from January 2025 – May 2025.
