Our core campaigns include Climate Education, Campus Mobilization, End Plastics, and Cleanups.
Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and motivated intern to join our team and support our campaigns including our United States campaign, global campaign, and our college campus engagement campaign. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, campaign development, and community engagement. As an Outreach and Mobilization Intern, you will work closely with the National Campaign Manager and the College Campus Coordinator, assist in organizing events, and contribute to our outreach efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Community Engagement: Engage with community members, partners, and stakeholders through outreach efforts, including phone calls, zoom calls, emails, and social media interactions.
- Event Coordination: Help organize and promote events, workshops, and community cleanups. This includes managing logistics, outreach, and volunteer coordination.
- Campaign Support: Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of our core campaigns.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the campaign leads and program managers.
Qualifications
- Passion for environmental issues and commitment to the mission of EARTHDAY.ORG.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
- Experience in event planning, volunteer coordination, or community outreach is a plus.
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program in Environmental Science, Communications, Public Policy, or a related field (preferred but not required).
Terms and Benefits
Internships are 15 hours a week minimum with at least 3 days on. This internship can be fully remote or hybrid. Our office is located in Washington, DC, with in-office opportunities on Wednesdays.
This is an unpaid internship, but college credit can be awarded if your institution supports it. In addition, you’ll receive training in new technologies, participate in career development, and gain mentorship from experienced staff.
