Job Description
GSK is seeking an ambitious 12-week Summer intern to join our molecular design team. This is an opportunity to dive headfirst into the world of drug discovery programs, utilizing a wide array of computational approaches. We are seeking junior/senior undergraduate students and/or graduate students in chemistry, computer science, or those with a background in chemistry or biology. This is a hands-on experience where you'll work side-by-side with GSK's molecular design team. You will be at the forefront of developing and evaluating cutting-edge tools and methods that are integral to our organization. Minimum Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Computer Science, or related physical or life sciences discipline.
- Pursuing a Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry, Cheminformatics, Machine learning methods or related discipline.
- Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the 12-week internship (May/June - August 2025).
- Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of chemical and protein structure
- Knowledge of protein degraders, antibody-drug conjugates or oligonucleotide therapies
- Knowledge of cheminformatics, machine learning and QSAR methods
- Proficient in programming and/or scripting (e.g., Python, Perl, C/C++)
- Experience using high performance computing clusters for molecular simulation
- Expertise in chemistry, computational chemistry, or drug discovery

- Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check prior to assignment target start date.

Benefits
- While GSK embraces a flexible work environment, we do require certain positions to be onsite. Candidates who are hired for an on-site role or hybrid role, and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location, are eligible for relocation stipend. This is a one-time payment to help offset housing & relocation expenses. Please refer to the position details for the requirements of each position.
