Rochester Soccer Club Digital Media/Photography Intern

Rochester Soccer Club is seeking a committed and creative Digital Media Intern to bolster the club’s social media presence. 

This is a great opportunity to gain college-level professional experience while making a difference in the community through Rochester’s youth soccer club. This is an unpaid position for Oakland University class credit (COM4950: Internship).

The social media intern will work under the supervision of the Digital Media & Graphic Design Manager and be responsible for assisting with a variety of digital marketing initiatives.

The term of the internship lasts 12 weeks with a total of 150 hours of experience, from January through April (approximately 12.5 hours per week).

All samples of work may be used by the intern for their portfolio. 

RSC is committed to providing midpoint and post-internship performance reviews, in addition to regular feedback to help the intern learn and excel.

Digital Media Intern Job Responsibilities

• Shoot and edit photographs for Facebook and Instagram pages
• Create and edit short-form video for Facebook and Instagram pages
• Assist with and initiate strategies to increase social media engagement
• Brainstorm and generate original content through photos, videos, and reels
• Assist with the compilation of the club’s monthly digital newsletter
• Assist with the execution of scheduled social media campaigns

Desired Skills

• Excellent communication skills with a willingness to learn and collaborate
• Intermediate to advanced photography, videography, and editing skills
• Knowledge of social media platforms
• Knowledge of Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro) or other editing software

Work Hours & Requirements

• Intern will set their schedule with Digital Media & Graphic Design Manager.
• The internship is a hybrid work environment. Flexible office hours are Monday through Thursday 9am - 2pm, with the ability to work remotely as needed with prior approval.
• Variable evening and weekend availability is a must in order to capture content while teams are at practices, games, and local tournaments.
