Video Editing Internship - Winter/Spring 2024-25 - Unpaid/For Credit or Personal Experience

This internship provides a remote learning opportunity tailored for students aspiring to acquire practical skills in video editing. Participants will receive mentorship and supervision through video calls and screen-sharing sessions, providing valuable insights into the real-world applications of writing principles. It is crucial to underscore that this internship is unpaid and is available for individuals seeking academic credit or pursuing personal experiential development.

Each internship caters to an intern's strengths and interests so that each intern can reach their individual learning objectives. This particular internship helps students develop their abilities in creative writing and all tasks will be related to this area of study. 

Preferred Job Qualifications:

While the start and end dates of the internship are flexible, it is specifically intended for the Winter/Spring 2024-25 semester. 

  • Proficient with MS office - MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint
  • Excellent writing and grammar skills.
  • A portfolio showcasing writing samples that demonstrate technical and creative abilities.
  • Conducting research and interviews to gather information and develop a deep understanding of the target audience, industry trends, and competitors.
  • Ability to write creatively and engage readers with storytelling.
  • Experience with different writing formats such as short stories, articles, scripts, and blogs.
  • Familiarity with different writing styles and the ability to adapt writing to different audiences.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and attention to details

Responsibilities:

During the internship, interns will be responsible for working on 2-4 projects. The number of assignments given will be determined based on the complexity of the projects, the intern's proficiency, and the credit hours required. On these projects students should expect to be responsible for the following:

  • Maintain organized records and files of work and revisions
  • Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or coworkers
  • Contributing to brainstorming sessions and providing creative input for content development.
  • Adapting writing style and tone to meet the needs of different audiences and channels.
  • Proofreading and fact-checking written materials to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including designers, marketers, and editors, to create compelling and effective content.
