Job Summary

The Summer Intern is responsible for learning as much as they can during the 10 weeks they spend at ECM. Interns will spend time in every department of the agency, visit insurance companies, and visit wholesale agencies that are partners of ECM. They are expected to show up on time, ready to work and to be active participants while asking questions to learn. The interns will also have a project during the 10 weeks which they will present to the ECM Leadership Team at the end of the summer.
 

 

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Be prepared: Show up on time, have way to take notes, ask questions, show enthusiasm.
  • Core Values: Understand and adhere to ECM’s core values at all times.
  • Interact, communicate and collaborate with ECM staff; sharing information and time as needed to support business objectives.
  • Adheres to all ECM policies and procedures.

 

Minimum requirements
 

  • Pursuing a College degree preferably in insurance and risk management.
  • Must have a way to get to and from the ECM office for the 10 weeks of the internship.
    • Internship Focus. Demonstrates a commitment to learning and engaging in the intern program.
    • Builds Collaborative Relationships. The ability to develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with clients, colleagues, and carriers.
    • Thoroughness and Reliability. Ensuring that work product is timely, accurate, and complete.
    • Communication. Interns should have strong interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to express ideas, give and receive feedback, and understand ECM's communication flow.
    • Professionalism. Thinks carefully about the likely effects on others of one’s words, actions, appearance, and mode of behavior. Selects the words or actions most likely to have the desired effect on the individual or group in question.
