Analytics Engineer Internship

As an Analytics Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects and gain hands-on experience in transforming raw data into high-quality datasets that are ready for analysis. The role combines the technical skills of a data engineer, the analytical mindset of a data analyst, and working business acumen to ensure data is accessible and insightful for end users.

 

What You’ll Do as a Farmers Intern

This is a full time 40 hour a week, paid, 10-12 week Summer internship.

You will develop crucial and highly valuable data analytics skills as well as soft skills through the course of your internship. This is an opportunity to work alongside accomplished professionals and gain valuable skills for your future. Additionally, you will learn how we use innovation and technology to drive our business forward and through project work, job shadowing, hands on work experience, and exposure to Farmers leadership teams to expand your knowledge and experience. Some duties of an Analytics Engineer Intern include: 

  • Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand their data needs.
  • Transform raw data into clean, organized, and analytics-ready datasets using SQL, Python, or other relevant languages.
  • Contribute to data workflow including data ingestion, transformation, modeling, and validation to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Utilizes modern data tools and technologies such as dbt, Airflow, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Clearly communicates complex technical concepts and data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

What You'll Bring as a Farmers Intern

  • Ability to manipulate and analyze data to address and solve business problems.
  • Familiarity with data manipulation using SQL, Python, or similar languages.
  • Preferred but not required: proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A passion for learning and development.
  • Willingness to independently learn and make an impact within a team environment.
  • Self-motivated, an excellent problem solver and a quick learner.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Education You’ll Need

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors (BS/BA) or Masters (MS/MA) degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics or Computer Science.   
  • You must be a student enrolled in an accredited college during the duration of the internship. 
    • Specifically, a rising Junior or Senior level undergraduate student or graduate student.

Hybrid Work Locations

This internship is a Hybrid opportunity, where you will be onsite 3 times a week.
