Process Engineering Internship

Summary

The Process Engineering Internship will allow the successful candidate to greatly enhance their real-life experiences and learn modern skillsets within the field that they are studying. It is an outstanding opportunity to get hands-on experience on the manufacturing plant floor and understand how data is utilized to make insightful observations, determine efficiency trends and troubleshooting. 

Responsibilities

  • Complete studies on current manufacturing equipment installations to evaluate operational efficiency and line performance opportunities. Assist with the support of implementing projects for improvement for instance: Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing
  • Analyze current operational processes; develop and implement ideas for improvement
  • Develop performance standards & metrics; implement analysis and reporting processes to monitor operational performance
  • Interface with process operators to gain insights on potential process improvements and develop a plan to implement and validate these solutions
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Enrolled in Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering, Food Science, Business or related field
  • Possesses interest in working food manufacturing 
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Students with a minimum of one year of major specific classes, preferred
  • Ability to work in a plant environment with exposure to loud, hot, cold, or wet environments
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk and climb stairs for eight hours per day
