About these Opportunities: 7-Eleven Inc. has several opportunities for Summer Internships.  Each internship opportunity will occur during the summer months, (10-12 weeks), focused on a specific functional area, and will provide the candidate with a depth experience within the area, culminating in a project presentation to functional leaders.  Each intern will work closely with a coach who will meet regularly to discuss project progress, provide direction and ongoing feedback. In addition, each intern will attend a lunch series which will provide a cross-functional view into the organization and give the interns exposure to senior leadership.  The interns will also have the experience of touring a store and learning about our distribution systems. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Store Innovation and 7-Ventures team with current projects / portfolio companies such as attending project meetings, supporting data reporting, diligence of pipeline project or investment opportunities, and drafting executive level presentations.
  • Think strategically about innovation for the Business Development / 7-Ventures team and how it can be applied within the 7E business model.  The project will demonstrate ability to do market research, analyze data, network with relevant 7e employees/ thought leaders, and communicate recommendations in executive level presentations.
  • Continue to meet the needs of the evolving c-store customer with innovative products and solutions (operations or consumer-facing) which will in turn, drive operational efficiencies and/ or incremental revenue opportunities. 
  • Bring fresh, new thinking for a current or net new initiative / platform that we can turn into action or pipeline for innovation. 
  • Ability to translate market research and insights into actionable recommendations that can influence future business opportunities for team

Qualifications:

  • MBA/ Masters in relevant field in progress 
  • 2 to 5 years of work experience preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with strong decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills (statistical knowledge required for most internships).
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of retail/corporate venture and business development team
