Book Editor & InDesign Expert Intern

Bad Kids Korporation Internship Program Position Title: Book Editor & InDesign Expert Intern Supervisor: Tani Saeun, Creative Director Duration: 6 Months from Date of Signing Hours: 20-25 hours per week (Primarily Task-Based) Location: Remote, with Some Opportunities for In-Person Collaboration Role Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented and creative Book Editor & InDesign Expert Intern to join our team. You will play a key role in editing and formatting our upcoming publications, including graphic novels, poetry books, and other literary projects. Your expertise in editing and design will ensure our content is polished, visually appealing, and publication-ready. Key Responsibilities: ● Content Editing: Review and edit manuscripts, ensuring clarity, consistency, and quality in writing. Provide feedback to authors to refine and enhance their work. ● Design & Layout: Use Adobe InDesign to format and design book layouts, creating visually engaging and cohesive publications. ● Proofreading: Conduct thorough proofreading to eliminate grammatical errors, typos, and inconsistencies in text. ● Collaboration: Work closely with authors, illustrators, and the creative team to ensure the final product meets our high standards and aligns with the project’s vision. ● Project Management: Organize and manage multiple editing and design projects, keeping track of deadlines and ensuring timely delivery. ● Team Interaction: Participate in Zoom meetings for project updates and collaborate actively via WhatsApp and our project management systems. Requirements: ● Editing Skills: Strong command of grammar, punctuation, and language usage. Experience in editing various types of content, including books and graphic novels, is preferred. ● Adobe InDesign Proficiency: Solid experience with Adobe InDesign, including book layout design and formatting. ● Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and a keen eye for design and editorial details. ● Creative Vision: Ability to think creatively and contribute design ideas that enhance the reader’s experience. ● Organization: Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously. ● Team Player: Comfortable working in a collaborative, remote team environment and willing to provide and accept constructive feedback. ● Self-Driven: Ability to work independently and efficiently, with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Compensation: This is an unpaid internship; however, interns may receive residuals through an MFN (Most Favored Nations) agreement for select projects, offering potential income from ongoing work contributions.
