Summer Intern/Clinical Pharmacology Modeling and Simulation
Department Description:
The department of Clinical Pharmacology Modelling and Simulation (CPMS) at GlaxoSmithKline is recruiting a Summer Intern. CPMS is a science driven group delivering clinical pharmacology and modelling & simulation excellence using model-informed drug development (MIDD) to support early through late-stage development programs.
Job Description:
The goal of this project is to explore the use of Genetic Algorithms at GSK to:
- Increase efficiency of routine model development
- Reduce costs dedicated to outsourcing model development
- Maintain scientific rigor of current, traditional model building approach.
A successful candidate will have the opportunity to support development, integration, and testing of a Genetic Algorithm tool into the current GSK Pharmacometrics Modeling framework. This candidate may expect to gain knowledge of AI/ML principles, gain exposure to clinical data and industry-level pharmacometrics modeling across therapeutic areas, develop further skills in R programming, and contribute directly to the increased efficiency and scientific rigor of CPMS workflows across the pipeline. While this position will be within the CPMS Oncology group, the candidate may work with individuals and data across indications, and they may have the opportunity to present completed work internally and externally. This internship will be based at GSK’s Upper Providence site (R&D Headquarters) in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.
