Slate is a new US company exploring development in the electric vehicle space. Slate is looking for an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our growing team. Slate is a new company exploring development in the electric vehicle space. This role focuses on creating Automated Test Scripts. This position Reports directly to the Head of Electrical Engineering, you play a major role in bringing products to life.
Salary Information: $20 to $25 per hour
Who we are looking for:
- An applicant to join our Electrical Engineering team as our Electrical Engineering Intern for the Summer 2025 Semester (May to August)
- An intern to commute to our Troy and Lake Orion, MI locations and be onsite 5 days per week
- Those seeking real world experience and opportunities to support multiple systems throughout an entire vehicle
- Applicants with a passion for Automotive projects
What you get to do:
- Support the Electrical Engineering Team on various low voltage projects
- Responsible for creation of Automated Test Scripts for Test Properties
- Document all findings and provide technical reports to Engineering Leadership
- Gain experience with different test property platforms such as Hil, PWB, SiL and Beta Vehicles
- Establish test scripts that can be reused for future projects
- Create test scripts that can be modified for vehicle Design Validation projects
What you bring to the team:
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- Must be in Junior or Senior year of academic courses
- Participation in Formula SAE, SAE or vehicle level projects a plus
- Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills
- Organization and Project Management - Flexibility to adjust and work competently in a dynamic and changing environment while understanding calendar deliverables with strong attention to details.
- Professionalism and Confidentiality - An ability to be an effective brand representative and ambassador to the Slate community, both presenting the Slate vision and collecting input that leads to future accessories' development.
- Analytical Problem Solver - Possess critical thinking skills to extract, analyze, and synthesize data
- Creative Thinker - Seek creative methods to help develop strategies and improvements for product features and requirements
- Self-Starter and Collaborative Mindset - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient at Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
