Member Duties :

Join The Welcome to America Project (WTAP) and help in building additional capacity and scalability of our Career Bridging efforts to increase job readiness for refugees! In 2024, Arizona has resettled the most refugees it has ever received. These newcomers are receiving less support from the government and rely on the Welcome to America Project to fill in the gaps with resources to successfully establish them in their new home. The successful applicant will develop and strengthen The Welcome to America Project’s initiatives in building connections and providing resources to newly arrived refugees. This includes scaling our Career Bridge Pilot program, building connections with current and new community partners, improving sourcing for our Bike Program, leading and educating volunteers, and warehouse organization to help with efficiency and effectiveness. As a result, newly arrived refugees will be able to improve self-sufficiency and community members will be better informed about their new neighbors. You will do this by developing documentation processes for partnerships for delivery of training, mentoring, job readiness and career networking, building the framework for standardized case notes, developing methods to track metrics of the program and more! The future member should have some background with Google Suite, working in communities, bilingual in English and any of the following languages: Dari, Pashto, Arabic, Swahili, Rohingya, Spanish, Somali, Kinyarwanda and/or a knowledge of refugee communities but not required.
