Material and Analytical Sciences - Intern
Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our Material and Analytical Sciences department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. As an Intern, you will expand your scientific skills, gain experience using state-of-the-art equipment and gain insight on the drug development process.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Using modeling software and programing skills to simulate drug substance and drug product behaviors in dissolution experiments.
- Establish an in-silico model to predict the in-vitro dissolution of injectable extended-release formulations, e.g. implants.
- Validation of the model with internal datasets.
- Plan to conduct laboratory work and document technical data with experimental results.
- Presentation of results to project teams and to the management
Requirements
- Must be a graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing
- Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship
- Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred
- Major or minor in related field of internship
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university
- Graduate and Advanced Degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university
Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- Ph.D. Candidate in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Material Sciences & Engineering, etc.
- Familiar with polymer chemistry, formulation development.
- Hands on experience of dissolution methods, like United States Pharmacopeia apparatus.
- Working experience with modeling software and programing language (Python, MATLAB).
- Written and oral communication skills with publication and presentation records.
- Strong collaboration, organization, and project management skills.
Compensation Data
This position offers an hourly rate of $20.00 - $33.00 USD/hr. commensurate to the level of degree program in which an applicant is actively enrolled. For an overview of our benefits please click here.
