Part Time Student - Engine Performance Analyst
Your Responsibilities
As a Part Time Student - Engine Performance Analyst at John Deere Power Systems, located in Waterloo, IA, you will assist with Model-Based Product Development. In addition, you will:
- Assist in developing engine model capabilities, methodologies, processes and tools
- Provide support to engine development programs, conducting performance analysis simulations and optimization tasks
- Assist in developing model test protocols, calibration procedures and analysis methodologies
- Assist in supporting model architecture and workflow processes deployed throughout engine engineering
What Skills You Need
- Completed coursework in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, dynamics, heat transfer, experimentation and measurement
- Completed 50% of required credit hours toward engineering degree
- Use of standard engineering software, including Matlab
- Availability to work 15 hours/week during academic calendar and 30+ hours/week over summer
- Good communication and team skills
What Makes You Stand Out
- Use of GT-Power/ GT-Suite
- Completed coursework in internal combustion engines
- Engineering experience with internal combustion engines
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Bachelor of Science engineering degree or higher
Education (or equivalent work experience)
Full-time enrollment in an accredited degree program in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering discipline
