Salary: $20 to $25 per Hour.
Who we are looking for:
The Propulsion Systems group at Slate is seeking an energetic, organized, and enthusiastic Propulsion Systems Engineering Intern to join our team for the Summer 2025 Semester. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and innovative environment. This position reports to our Troy, MI location 5 days per week.
What you get to do:
- Assist in integrating key parts of the software and calibrating various components for production vehicles.
- Supporting prototype vehicle calibration and testing activities.
- Help translate vehicle requirements/functional objectives and contribute to development and testing plans.
- Collaborate with suppliers and various teams (e.g., Chief Engineer, architecture, purchasing, program management, and quality engineers) to ensure successful launch and release.
- Assist in defining, executing, and design verification plans (DVP) and reporting.
- Support production ramp-up and resolve field issues.
- Document and manage calibration changes.
What you bring to the team:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Strong desire to learn and gain experience in propulsion systems, calibration, and testing.
- Basic understanding of software and the ability to review documents to learn and understand software.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong technical research and writing skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
