Job purpose
This position is located at BorgWarner’s Propulsion Technical Center in Auburn Hills, MI.
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Human Resources Intern at our Propulsion Technical Center (PTC), Auburn Hills, MI. While a full-time student, must be able to work part-time 16 to 24 hours per week during the school year and full-time in the summer. Targeted start date for this role is January 2025.
In this role, the HR Intern will be primarily responsible for the support of the administration and coordination of HR projects/activities and is the first interface for employees. The HR Intern will be given exposure to different areas of HR and will be presented with opportunities to contribute to local and global HR projects, recruiting efforts, and other HR activities as directed for employees in Auburn Hills, MI.
Key responsibilities
- Provide first level of assistance to the global HR team and the employees in a timely effective manner.
- Partner with HR Lead in recruiting activities and assume the coordination and execution for student employment within the business unit.
- Supports the recruitment process through posting of jobs, scheduling interviews, greeting candidates, candidate interview expense reports, etc.
- Help to optimize the online tools and technology within the HR community including support of the learning management system global coordinators and assist in learning content development.
- Assist in database management, analysis, and business metrics reporting for HR.
- Assist with daily employee interactions to include creating and disseminating communications, follow up on required training, seating charts, desks, equipment, etc.
- Benchmark HR practices and make recommendations on process improvement.
- Perform other related responsibilities as assigned or required.
What we are looking for
- Undergraduate full-time student attending an accredited University.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, especially Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Prior work experience in a related field and/or industry is preferred.
- Ability to work onsite at our Tech Center in Auburn Hills, MI.
- Ability to work part-time during school year and work full time in summer.
