Pipeline Integrity Engineer Intern

DNV Energy Systems seeks to employ a Pipeline Integrity Engineer Intern to support our Columbus, Ohio based Integrity Solutions and Compliance Department.

The Integrity Solutions and Compliance Department focuses on providing innovative solutions and services to the pipeline industry. We work with pipeline operators in managing and maintaining their assets and providing operators with technical expertise to assist them through changing landscape of the energy transition. This role is based at our Dublin, Ohio DNV office. It is a hybrid role. Further details regarding role-specific requirements will be shared during the interview process.

What You’ll Do

  • Working effectively and efficiently within a group of approximately 25 Engineers/Consultants, and data verification specialists who are both remotely based and reporting to the Dublin, OH office
  • Compiling data received from pipeline operators and determining the appropriate methodologies and calculations to solve issues at hand
  • Documenting analyses and processes and procedures in a technical format to clearly deliver results and the implications of those results to the pipeline operator
  • Engage in a group of engineers and consultants, reviewing, and verifying each other’s work
  • Interact with other team members and clients (both in-person and remote) in a manner that is professional and promotes collaboration
  • Writing technical papers and/or delivering presentations of innovative work or projects, if desired

What is Required

  • Pursuing a B.S. degree or higher in Material Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Must have experience in technical writing, problem solving, critical thinking, and the ability to pick up technical concepts quickly
  • Attention to detail, internally motivated, hardworking, soft social skills, professional presence, often takes the initiative independent of direct instruction
  • Ability to work on a team effectively and efficiently, but also be able to show effectiveness when working individually.
  • Ability to handle fast pace, high demand environments with strong stress management skills
  • Actively seeks opportunities to help team members with demanding project schedules and expectations
  • We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening

What is Preferred

  • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • VBA programming experience / experience with process automation
  • Python programming experience
  • Finite Element Analysis Modelling Experience
