The Allbritton Journalism Institute — a nonprofit organization backed by a grant from Robert Allbritton, the founding publisher of Politico — is now accepting applications for its 2025-2027 class of fellows. Every September, AJI welcomes a cohort of early-career reporters to D.C. for a two-year fellowship. Fellows are paid $60,000 per year to take classes with some of the country’s best journalists and to write for NOTUS, a nonpartisan publication that covers politics, policy and government.

Current fellows cover the incoming Trump administration, Capitol Hill, foreign policy and other topics connected to national politics. The Institute’s teaching faculty includes Tim Alberta of The Atlantic, DeNeen Brown and Josh Dawsey of The Washington Post, Cheryl Thompson of NPR, Pulitzer winner Wesley Lowery and many other veteran Washington journalists.

The application for the 2025-2027 class can be found here. It is is due February 19. If you have any questions about the fellowship or the application, please email admissions@aji.org.
