Position Overview: We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance and Accounting Intern to join our team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit finance and accounting while contributing to meaningful work that impacts communities in need. As a Finance and Accounting Intern, you will assist with essential financial tasks, including budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis, under the guidance of our finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
Budget Support:
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of CSA’s budget, including tracking expenses and analyzing variances.
Financial Reporting:
Help prepare monthly financial statements, budget reports, and other internal financial documents to ensure accurate reporting and transparency.
Accounting Tasks:
Support day-to-day accounting functions, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, including cost analysis, trend analysis, and forecast projections.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure compliance with CSA’s financial policies and procedures, and assist with maintaining organized documentation and records for audits.
Special Projects:
Collaborate with the finance team on special projects that may include creating financial models, researching funding opportunities, and analyzing financial performance metrics.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (experience with QuickBooks is a plus).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Passion for nonprofit work and a commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
