About these Opportunities: 7-Eleven Inc. has several opportunities for Summer Internships. Each internship opportunity will occur during the summer months, (10-12 weeks), focused on a specific functional area, and will provide the candidate with a depth experience within the area, culminating in a project presentation to functional leaders. Each intern will work closely with a coach who will meet regularly to discuss project progress, provide direction and ongoing feedback. In addition, each intern will attend a lunch series which will provide a cross-functional view into the organization and give the interns exposure to senior leadership. The interns will also have the experience of touring a store and learning about our distribution systems.
In this role, the individual will act as a vital link between IT, Store Operations and various Store Support Center departments to improve and simplify stores processes and systems. Serves as RIS expert and escalation point for Operations Management for resolution of store RIS issues, 7hub, Store IA and related tools used to support the operations team.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain knowledge of Store RIS System & how different application work by spending time in 7-Eleven store & working with dedicated IT Field Manager.
- Analyze ServiceNow Case data to identify trends and opportunity stores in every regions for proactive monitoring & addressing root cause.
- Review daily open network cases to ensure proper resolution process being followed to get issues resolved within reasonable time frame,
- Work with assigned IT Field Manager to gain knowledge of cash report process from start to finish & get familiar with procedural cash report issues.
- Participate in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) session for all new software/hardware in lab stores before production release.
- Participate extensively in pilot phase of new software and hardware releases and ensures that system issues are reported timely and effectively to the project and support teams during pilot
- Provide input into system development and procedures improvements through consultation with Operations and Store Support Center departments.
- Work with Operations to address area specific solutions/procedures for unusual/"One-off" sales situations.
- Maintain extensive understanding of how and why systems and applications work the way that they do in order to develop communications and address issues and issues within assigned regions/zones.
- Serve as the business liaison and primary contact for all RIS and 7hub communications to and from the field regarding system functionality, design, rollout, and ongoing upgrades and enhancements.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field
- Exceptional attention to detail, time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to independently lead projects and collaborate with cross-functional colleagues
- Understand of the RIS (Retail Information System) including POS, ISP. GOT, and Scanner functionality
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively across multiple stakeholders, including senior management
- Strong problem resolution skills; able to provide solutions and recommendations for resolution
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
