Social Media Intern Communications and Marketing

Do you enjoy content creation? Are you looking to gain more professional social media experience? Join the OU marketing team as a Social Media Intern and help us elevate our online presence!

 

Oakland’s University Communications and Marketing (UCM) department is the creative force behind the university’s brand, ensuring cohesiveness and continuity of the internal and external messaging. UCM manages all of the main social media channels for the university, and we need your help to convey life on campus from an authentic student perspective.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create engaging social content for OU’s main social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, LinkedIn and more).
  • Generate ideas for content such as videos and photos that align with our brand.
  • Collaborate with our marketing team to brainstorm and execute creative content.
  • Highlight campus life, student resources, athletic events and more.
  • Attend student events and celebrations (day and evening) to take photos/video and interview other students.
  • Attend photo and video shoots to assist the UCM team.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • An outgoing student with a friendly personality and great communication skills.
  • Experience with visual content creation apps like CapCut, TikTok and Instagram Reels.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills and an attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of current social media trends.
  • A positive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow.
