Procurement Intern - Kansas City

The Opportunity

As a Procurement Intern, you will perform input for previously established procedures and/or systems, assist in establishing and/or maintaining a suppliers' list, preparing, issuing and receiving requests for quotation, and assist in evaluating quotations. The Procurement Intern will develop knowledge in the use of procurement department software, review and process purchasing documents, prepare/issue/maintain records of purchase orders, and may process approvals for supplier invoices and maintains necessary records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform input for previously established procedures and/or systems
  • Implement firm's and department's Policies and Procedures
  • Assist in establishing and/or maintaining a Suppliers' List
  • Assist in preparing, issuing and receiving Requests For Quotation
  • Assist in evaluating quotations
  • Develop knowledge in the use of Procurement Department software
  • Review and process purchasing documents
  • Prepare/issue/maintain records of purchase orders
  • May process approvals for supplier invoices and maintains necessary records

Preferred Qualifications

Working toward preferred bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business, Construction Management. 

Minimum Qualifications

Current enrollment in a 4 year program in Supply Chain, Business, Technical / Engineering, Construction Management or related field program. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Work Environment

Professionals located near a Black & Veatch office have the option of a hybrid work model that offers a balance between working together in person and the flexibility of remote work. Our hybrid work model means you will work three days in the office and two days from another location of your choice. 

 

This position will be located in Overland Park, KS.
