Summary of Role:  

GlobalFoundries seeks a Field Application Engineering Intern. You will have responsibility for providing technical support to GlobalFoundries customers. Specifically, you will work with customers on new opportunities, carrying out successful evaluations of GlobalFoundries technologies leading to Design Win (DWIN), converting it to Design-In/Tapeout and ensuring a successful first time-right experience 

 

Essential Responsibilities: 

Familiarize with GF technology offerings and deep dive with GF experts to learn technology features and differentiation. 

Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to match GF technology offerings with customer requirements 

Assist customers with technical evaluation and tapeout execution partnering with GF subject matter experts. 

Creation of customer-facing technical documentation on how GF technology solves their application / market needs. 

 

Other Responsibilities: 

Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

Education – At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s in Science, Engineering or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.  

Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing. 

Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)  

Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Actively pursuing a Master’s in Science, Engineering or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.  

Prior related internship or co-op experience 

Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc. 

Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.  

Strong written and verbal communication skills  

Strong planning & organizational skills 

Course work in Circuit Design, Semiconductor device physics, Material Science 

Skills: Microsoft suite, EDA tools, Linux
