SOC IT Intern
Kwik Trip Inc. Become part of our fast paced, guest centric Information Technology Department and receive hands-on work experience by supporting our Application Development Team. This individual will work on projects as directed by the Back/Front End Applications Supervisor.
Regular tasks include:

Design and Implement Security Automation Workflows in Tines
- Collaborate with both the Information Systems Operations Team and the Automations Team to gather business needs and translate them into actionable automations on the Tines platform.
- Build out case management workflows that automate the intake of alerts, events, and actions from multiple alerting platforms based on specific business rules and requirements.
- Ensure seamless integration with various alerting systems, automating key processes like alert triage and case resolution actions.

API Integration and Automation Enhancement
- Use APIs to connect external systems with Tines to enhance the automation process, enriching alert data and making automation more effective.
- While knowledge of Python and C# is a plus, these skills can be developed on the job to create more advanced workflows and custom automations as needed.

Cross-Team Collaboration and Training
- Work closely with the Operations and Automations Teams to ensure that workflows are aligned with business needs and best practices.
- Participate in on-the-job training for the Tines platform and other relevant tools, and actively contribute to refining existing automations.
- Training Opportunity: The candidate will also be provided time and resources to pursue the Blue Team Level 1 Certification, a valuable credential in security operations, with dedicated study time during working hours.

Comprehensive Documentation and Automated Backup
- Follow the team’s custom documentation format to clearly document each automation, including its purpose, steps, and outcomes. This format will be shared during the onboarding process.
- Ensure that all documentation is detailed and accurate, providing a clear roadmap for troubleshooting and future adjustments.
- Implement automated backup processes using Tines to ensure that documentation and workflow configurations are securely stored and backed up on a regular schedule.
Qualifications:
- Student obtaining an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Software Developer
- Preferred knowledge of one or more of the following program languages: Python, PowerShell, C#
- Knowledge of Web concepts and terminology
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Products
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, and self-motivated
- Familiarity with APIs and how to use them to enhance automation workflows
- Ability to resolve high priority issues.
- Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
Work Schedule: This is a paid internship. Interested candidates must be willing to work 20+ hours per week Monday through Friday during the school semesters and 40 hours during school breaks. It is important to note that we offer flexibility with school scheduling.
