Commodity Management and Sourcing Intern, (30165924)

Job Description Summary:

Associates will assist Contract Plastics, Rubber & Insulation Supply Chain sourcing team with projects related to component and supplier consolidation, creation of analytical reports on key suppliers, centralized agreement attribute tracking tools, and other strategic sourcing initiatives.

 

Carrier is looking for a Commodity Management and Sourcing Intern for our Summer 2025 Cohort from May - August 2025.

 

Role Purpose:

Through this internship with the Strategic Sourcing team, will help you gain insight to the daily activities and requirements for sourcing, negotiating, managing, and maintaining an extensive contract portfolio targeting a diverse group of suppliers and partners. This opportunity is designed to encourage growth over time.

 

Intern candidates can potentially return to Carrier for subsequent internships to continue growing in key areas of responsibility. The candidate for this internship will be responsible for assisting with project management, data analytics, operational execution, and contract document management. Candidates who excel in these responsibilities and in their ability to interact in a professional setting have the potential to be considered for permanent employment.

 

Role Responsibilities:

Learn to debate/discuss/decide on sourcing strategies and understand how contract award decisions are made.

Learn about the operational, technical, and financial considerations that are necessary to run a successful supply chain.

Work with Category manager on contract terms and conditions and understand why supply chain transparency/resiliency are key factors to consider as one make product selections and supplier partnerships.

Work with cross-functional teams to help drive productivity projects across Carrier on a global basis.

Work with suppliers on key projects and set up regular meetings to establish a regular cadence and complete projects on time.

Assists in running data analytics on Supplier Spend (SPM tool) and developing presentations for strategic reviews with senior leadership.

 

Required Qualifications:

Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, supply chain, or business, analytics, logistics, operations, or statistics

Must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of supply chain.

Ability to solve challenging and complex problems.

Knowledgeable in Excel and Power BI
