Job purpose

The Project Management Intern at PHINIA will support the delivery of impactful projects that contribute to the organization’s goals. This internship provides an opportunity to learn and apply fundamental project management skills, including planning, coordinating, and communicating with stakeholders. The role will assist project managers in aligning project activities with business objectives, facilitating meetings, managing schedules, and helping to ensure projects stay on track. This is an ongoing internship that will start as soon as the candidate is available. This position is ideal for a student who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in project management at our World Headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Assistance: Support the planning, execution, and closing of projects, helping ensure they meet timeline, budget, and quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Assist in managing communication with project stakeholders, providing regular updates, and addressing queries.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in team meetings and contribute to coordinating project activities across functional teams.
  • Schedule Management: Help maintain project schedules and track milestones to ensure timely project progression.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Assist in preparing project-related documentation, meeting notes, and progress reports.
  • Risk and Issue Tracking: Help identify project risks and issues, contributing to the development of mitigation plans.
  • Process Improvement: Learn and apply project management best practices to contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Agile Practices: Gain exposure to Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban, and assist in fostering team collaboration.

What we’re looking for

  • Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Ideal candidates are entering their third year.
  • Interest in Project Management: Eager to learn about project management and excited to gain practical experience in the field.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Team Player: Comfortable working in a team setting and eager to contribute to team objectives.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
