Position Summary
This position is responsible for helping to coordinate the day-to-day Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) activities that are required to maintain compliance with Tronair EHS and regulatory requirements at the Swanton, Ohio facility. They are responsible for completing assigned tasks and projects. This position is also responsible for helping to drive a culture of compliance through the implementation of the Tronair EHS Programs and ensuring the elements of full circle safety (at home, on the road, and at work) are embedded into the site’s daily operations.
Essential Functions
- Assist in promoting a sustainable compliance culture from the EHS perspective based on the principles of continuous improvement, accountability, colleague engagement and leadership involvement.
- Help to identify and address EHS issues that arise due to changes in the facility, programs, practices, etc.
- Conduct a facility chemical audit and update of online SDS system by department.
- Conduct PPE assessments and job safety analyses.
- Assist with conducting regular workplace safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations.
- Track completion of forklift and crane inspections.
- Assist in the investigation of workplace accidents and incidents.
- Order supplies as needed.
- Train team members as needed.
- Any other tasks deemed necessary by supervisor or site leader to support operations and facilities.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficient computer skills, related experience in an administrative environment performing administrative tasks preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are required.

Physical Requirements

- Routinely sit, sometimes for extended periods, and work on a computer;
- Use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
- Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
- Occasionally spend time in the manufacturing environment to complete assigned projects (assist with inventory, verification of cycle counts, etc.)
- At such times, a greater amount of physical exertion, standing and walking would be required.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. The noise level in the work environment when in the office is usually quiet. The manufacturing environment noise level may be somewhat louder in certain areas, and is subject to variations in temperature.
