New Site Development Department
The Market Development (MD) team is responsible for 4 key functions within the North American business: 1) Market Strategy, 2) Site Selection & Acquisition, 3) New Site Development and 4) Preconstruction. The team drives the business plans and execution of our geographic and vertical market expansions across North America. The New Site Development (NSD) team drives the technology, innovation and new development of data center infrastructure across Vantage’s companywide portfolio. The NSD team evaluates new sites, drives scope, cost and scheduling in line with corporate goals and serves as subject matter experts across the entire project lifecycle from concept through commissioning. NSD works hand in hand with the Construction team to come up with a vertically integrated design and ensures new and existing standards and designs are executed effectively. The team also collaborates with Commercial Management, Sales, Solution Engineering, Design Engineering, Operations, Legal, Finance, and Senior Management along the way. One thing that distinguishes Vantage is that our technical staff are given the responsibility and authority to directly drive tangible results. Our team can align long-term operational sustainability with value engineering and cost metrics to deliver products aligned with corporate goals. Position Overview
Prefer role to be based in Denver, CO (Hybrid).
We are looking for a motivated New Site Development Intern to join our team, gaining experience across various facets of site selection & acquisition due diligence, development, initial concept & schematic design, entitlement/permitting, budgeting, and scheduling and project management for new data center development projects. In this role, you will work closely with NSD Development Managers, Development Coordinators, and cross-functional teams to support site due diligence, feasibility analysis, and project development initiatives. This internship is ideal for candidates looking to build a strong foundation in project management within the digital infrastructure & real estate development sector.
Essential Job Functions
Due Diligence & Feasibility Analysis:
Assist with site assessments and market research to evaluate the feasibility of potential development projects.
Support due diligence on potential project risks, ensuring alignment with financial, compliance, and market requirements.
Coordinate with internal SME’s, external consultants, architects, and engineers to deliver comprehensive site assessments.
Risk & Market Analysis:
Support the identification and assessment of potential project risks, creating risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with project managers.
Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to inform project decisions and development strategies.
Financial Compliance & Business Analysis:
Assist in monitoring project compliance with financial regulations and internal guidelines.
Analyze financial data, prepare reports, and support financial modeling to assess project viability and profitability.
Process Improvement:
Work with the project management team to identify process improvement opportunities, optimizing workflows and ensuring efficient project execution.
Develop documentation and provide insights to enhance standard operating procedures.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with various teams across development, energy, utility, sales, construction, preconstruction, legal, risk, finance, and compliance to ensure alignment and streamline project workflows.
Participate in regular project meetings, providing updates and insights from feasibility analysis and due diligence.
Additional Duties:
Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.
Job Requirements
Education:
Currently enrolled in a 4-year university pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Real Estate or a related field.
Experience:
Rising Senior status
Minimum GPA requirement – 3.0
Previous Internship experience preferred but not required
