- Authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship by the company
- Preferred Graduation: 2026-2027
- Available to work in a Hybrid setting in Boulder, CO without the need to relocate.

Software Engineer Intern
Infrastructure and Security
Siemens Electronic Board Systems division is offering an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer Intern to join our Infrastructure and Security team. This role is pivotal in providing services to development teams and management, focusing on enhancing code quality and security through static analysis, open source vulnerability reporting, and dynamic analysis testing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in C/C++ and Java, with the capability to employ Python, shell scripts, and application-specific development environments for building process-oriented analytical data presentation and reporting tools. This position is perfect for individuals looking to apply their technical skills in a real-world environment while contributing to the improvement of software development processes and security within a leading global software company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Static Analysis Reporting: Develop baseline and ongoing reports from static analysis tools for C++ and Java code bases, assess the quality of static analysis processes, and identify high-priority fixes.
- Integration Development: Build interfaces to import static analysis output and open source vulnerability information into the defect management system, facilitating systematic issue resolution.
- Open Source Vulnerability Reporting: Design and implement automated reporting for vulnerabilities in 3rd party components, including automated data import into defect management systems.
- Dynamic Analysis Testing: Evaluate, run penetration tests using dynamic analysis tools, develop tool extensions, and report defects in web-based and cloud-based applications.
- Technical Content Delivery: Document work on projects using an internal content management system and collaborate with senior engineers to improve existing documentation.
Qualifications:
- Strong competency in C/C++ and Java, with abilities in both developing new code and reading existing code.
- Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages to build interfaces between internal systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in both team environments and independently.
- Confidence in decision-making and the ability to advocate those decisions to senior engineers.
- Insatiable intellectual curiosity and a keen interest in software development and security.
