Manufacturing Engineering Intern
Job description
Scientific Dust Collectors is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our team and learn about the dust collection industry. Our ideal candidate is an undergrad student with AutoCAD 2D experience and has a desire to learn about the manufacturing and fabrication processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Learn to operate company Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to facilitate projects within the company
- Process Orders, Purchase Parts, Structure Bills of Materials
Will work in AutoCAD and project/application areas
- Create Approval Drawings, Proposal Drawings, and Manufacturing Drawings.
Quality Control
- Inspect manufactured and purchase parts per drawings.
Research & Development
- Participate in testing within SDC's in-house laboratory.
- Research new products and improve existing products.
Skills and Specifications
- Pursuing degree in Engineering
- Well-versed in relevant software (e.g. AutoCAD, MS Office)
- Quick learner
- Process oriented individual
- Project management skills
- Teamwork skills
- Demonstrates critical thinking and innovative, effective problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop good working relationships with assembly employees, other engineers, management, sales representatives, and customers.

Scientific Dust Collectors first began business in 1981 when several patents were issued for a unique product design relating to industrial dust collection. SDC designs, manufactures and sells a line of baghouse dust collectors and cartridge dust collectors. These designs are considered heavy duty and are used to filter dirty air in manufacturing environments. SDC’s products are sold throughout the United States and Canada.
