Public Health Undergraduate Scholars Program
University of Pittsburgh's Public Health Undergraduate Scholars Program!
Come to the University of Pittsburgh for an 8 week residential program from June 9th- August 1st 2025. We are looking for scholars that have expressed interest in health equity, health disparities, or a career in public health! In this program you will be placed at an internship site, receive career and mentoring skills, and live in on-campus housing. Internship site topics include: maternal and child health, environmental justice, and climate and health!
Our program is funded by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Each accepted scholar will receive a $3,200 stipend, travel expenses paid, and meal support throughout our program. In addition, at the end of the 8-weeks, we will take a trip to the CDC in Atlanta to present the research from your internships!
Minimum Requirements:
- U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or recipient of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
- Minimum 2.7 GPA
- Enrolled in a four-year college or university and have completed at least two years of undergraduate study or
- Recent graduate of a four-year college or university (Summer 2024, Fall/Winter 2024 and Spring 2025) or
- Recent graduate of a two-year community college (Summer 2024, Fall/Winter 2024, and Spring 2025)
- Interest in advancing health equity or reducing health disparities
- Expressed interest in a career in public health
