IT Infrastructure Administrator II - Database Administrator

Under general supervision, is responsible for ensuring that the performance and availability of the server and network infrastructure is maintained to the highest standard with maximum levels of productivity and efficiency. Supports multiple complex systems, applications, or databases. Analyzes, implements, monitors, and performs maintenance of physical networks, servers, operating systems, firewalls, internet connectivity, virtualization, business applications, and both information and data security. May exercise technical supervision.

 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday- Friday
 

Essential Job Functions

 

  • Performs installation, configuration, maintenance, deployment, and release of databases across a platform, including integration testing of PC/server operating systems, related utilities, and hardware.
  • Programs, installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains all aspects of the database environment, to include providing guidance on security and server updates or patches.
  • Manages current database environment by resolving any database shortages, alerting, and resolving any performance issues and ensuring that data is available to all applications across a platform.
  • Establishes enterprise database standards such as file system layout and database installation and creation, etc.
  • Identifies performance problems and malfunctions, addresses system and equipment problems; performs database backup and disaster recovery procedures and contingency plans and establishes requirements, methods, and procedures.
  • Maintains enterprise database documentation.
  • Participaties in security investigations as needed and and internal audits.
  • Capacity Planning: Monitors utilization for capacity planning. Forecasts utilization patterns and recommends modifications or upgrades.
  • Manages Oracle databases.
  • Adds new host machines to the network and administers network security across a platform.
  • Expands networks by setting up new hardware & software and connecting it to the existing assets across a platform.
  • Provides guidance to all initiatives and platforms.
  • Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required. 

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Four (4) years of information technology experience.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle databases.
  • Experience establishing enterprise database standards such as file system layout and database installation and creation, etc.
  • Experience maintaining enterprise database documentation.
  • Experience providing and evaluating database access tools and techniques to enable information access by business users.
  • Experience participating in security investigations as needed and internal audits.
  • Experience performing database backup and disaster recovery procedures and contingency plans and establishes requirements, methods, and procedures.
  • Experience in Database Design: Analyzes, tests, and implements physical database design for the storage aspects of the database objects (tables, views, procedures, etc.
  • Experience with Capacity Planning: Monitors utilization for capacity planning. Forecasts utilization patterns and recommends modifications or upgrades.
