2025 Summer Intern - Global Market Research

Job Description

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Tech Center in Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum.

 

The Team:

Global Market Research (GMR) is seeking talented, hard-working individuals to gather, analyze and synthesize the voice of the customer data to inform and impact internal client decisions, which is an essential role to fulfill the value of keeping the customer at the center of everything we do at GM.

 

What You’ll Do:  

Manage research projects and suppliers from beginning to end; holding to time and budget targets.

Collect, review, and analyze market research results; identify key insights from data analysis and recommend appropriate course of action.

Consult with internal clients to frame the specific learning objectives for primary research, and work alongside the research manager to apply appropriate research methodologies that will best fulfill the goal.

Provide internal teams with consumer and market insights – including: Brand Teams, Product Teams, Marketing, Planning, Program Management, Engineering, and Design.

Develop and deliver effective presentations to inform business decisions and strategic initiatives to multiple GM leadership levels and organizations.

Develop quantitative questionnaires and qualitative discussion guides.

Conduct special analyses utilizing current data or industry trends to further enhance the research findings.

 

 

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:    

Pursuit of a Master’s degree in one of the following areas: MBA, Market Research, Economics, Statistics, Industrial/Organization Psychology, or related field

Must be graduating between Dec 2025 - Jun 2026

Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week

We are looking for individuals that are driven to understand the “Why’s” and identify “Implications” of the data

Experience using M-Tab

Experience using Qualtrics platform (programming, java script, Stats IQ, XM Directory)

Familiarity with statistical concepts and applications

Familiarity with both quantitative and qualitative market research methodologies including Conjoint and Max Diff

Strong leadership skills to guide internal clients through research planning, execution, and insight phases

Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, especially the ability to synthesize large amounts of data involving multiple variables into comprehensive, yet concise, actionable insights

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with cross-functional teams (Brand Teams, Product Teams, Marketing, Planning, Engineering, Design and suppliers)

Outstanding organizational/project management skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing deliverables and deadlines

 

Start dates for this internship role are projected for May 2025.

 

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $4,800 - $6,700 monthly, dependent upon class status and degree.

GM will provide a one-time lump sum taxable stipend payment to eligible students selected for the 2025 Student Program.
