Quality Engineering Intern
Summary: Under the direction of department management, intern exercises responsibility for execution of the company’s strategic and tactical plans through department and related staff. This position exercises independent judgment routinely and operates within established guidelines. Interns will be assigned to a project for the duration of the summer. The intern will be required to present final results to the management group.
Qualified Applicants will possess the following:
- Current student, pursuing bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical, Quality Engineering or other equivalent engineering/mechanical technology.
- Possess an understanding of mechanical assembly and testing procedures.
- Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Chief Duties and/or Responsibilities will include:
- Confirmation of effectiveness of previous countermeasures
- Validation and correction of production Tracer Cards
- Ability to take ownership of projects or processes involving manufacturing processes from conception to completion.
- Ability to evaluate processes for continuous improvement.
- Ability to use hand measurements to collect data for evaluation
- Ability to understand process documents in order to verify standards are being met
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Organizational skills to track project completion status vs. required timing
- Ability to connect with team members, subject experts and members of the cross functional team to resolve technical issues in a time sensitive environment.
