INTERN, ENGINEER ASSISTANT
Hourly Wage: $26.00 | Anticipated Start Date: May 27, 2025
The Engineer Assistant is responsible to assist the Transmission Design Engineering team in the study, design, documentation, and implementation of various projects related to the engineering, maintenance, and construction of transmission lines.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provide assistance in cost analysis of various types of structure material. Assist with the organization of data for integration into the GIS database. Assist in department standards and record keeping. Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Experience and Expertise:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience: Student pursuing a position in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering or engineering technology fields. Candidate will have preferably completed the junior year of a 4-year program or the first year of a 2-year program preferred. Knowledge of the power industry is beneficial.
Skills: Computer competencies notably using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.), pdf readers. AutoCAD experience preferable. Must possess strong mathematical, organizational, verbal and written, communication skills.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid Driver’s License.
Physical Demands: Extended periods of viewing a computer monitor, with keyboard and mouse usage. Requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting (25 lbs.) and bending. Must be able to traverse rough terrain.
Environmental Demands: Individual will work indoors at a computer station and in the field with construction and maintenance crews.
Other Job Characteristics: Occasionally interacts with construction and maintenance personnel. Work under limited supervision in a variably paced and pressured work setting. Must be able to work in a team-oriented setting. Some overnight stay and travel required with possible irregular work hours.
