APAICS 2025 Congressional Internship

Overview

The Congressional Internship is designed for AA & NH/PI undergraduate aged students looking to increase their experience in public policy and service. This paid, eight to ten week-long program places interns in congressional offices and provides them with the opportunity to develop their leadership and professional skills, encourages political engagement, and fosters interests in public service careers.

Congressional Internship Program Dates:

2025 Summer

Program Date: June 4, 2025 - August 1, 2025

Application Deadline: February 7, 2025 at 11:59PM ET

2025 Fall

Program Dates: September 2, 2025 - November 14, 2025

Application Deadline: March 30, 2025, 11:59PM ET

Location: Washington, D.C.​

 

​How much is the grant and what are the other benefits of the Congressional Internship program?

Summer 2025 Internship: The grant for the Summer Congressional Internship is $2,550. Payments are made in two $1,275 installments, the first payment at the beginning, and the second payment at the end when all program requirements have been completed.

Fall 2025 Internship: The grant for the Fall Congressional Internship is $3,187.50. Payments are made in two $1,593.75 installments, the first payment at the beginning, and the second payment at the end when all program requirements have been completed.

 

Application Guidelines

Applications will be reviewed as soon as they are complete. (e.g. Applications that include one letter of recommendation and the other elements required below.) Strong applicants may be selected to advance to the interview stage of the application process before the deadline for all applications. You are encouraged to complete your application as soon as possible.

Responses to the following three questions (one page max. per question):

​Describe how your AA & NH/PI identity has influenced who you are today.

What is the most important policy issue currently impacting young AA & NH/PIs and what ideas do you have to solve them?

Why are you applying for this internship? How will you incorporate public service in your future career?

 

Responses to each question should be no more than one page each, in 12-point, Times New Roman font.
