The Position
MAG is seeking a self-motivated, driven, team-oriented professional to support efforts by the Communication Division to support the development of the internal and external communication strategies. Job duties will include gathering and analyzing and reporting on external and internal communication channel analytics, supporting the development of a content management plan (i.e., photos, intranet resources, department documents, etc.), and identifying existing content that may be used for communication collateral (i.e., data visualizations, maps, meeting minutes meeting videos, reports, etc.). Assignments may include attending public meetings and events to gather content, presenting information at internal meetings, and creating/posting social media content. Performs other duties as assigned.
 
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • Proficiency in assuring accuracy and consistency in content creation and communication materials.
  • Proficiency in creating, organizing, and maintaining content libraries, including photos, videos, reports, and other resources.
  • Proficiency writing and editing skills for various formats, including reports, social media, and presentations.
  • Proficiency in gathering and analyzing communication channel analytics to assess performance and improve outreach strategies.
  • Proficiency (or familiarity) with tools like content management systems (CMS), analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics), and social media scheduling tools.
  • Proficiency in presenting information in internal meetings or to stakeholders.
  • Proficiency interacting with diverse groups and capture public interest stories or feedback.
  • Proficiency in working collaboratively with internal teams to align communication strategies with organizational goals.
  • Proficiency managing multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
  • Willingness to take on special assignments or adapt to changing priorities.

 
 
Experience and Education

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must demonstrate one of the following:
    • Be actively engaged in taking communication, journalism, and/or marketing courses at a qualified university, college, or arts program.
    • Proof of communications training through college or certification course.
    • Have relevant work experience in communications.
