Industrial Engineering Internship
Chief Duties and/or Responsibilities:
- Lead continuous improvement activities.
- Manage, champion, and implement cost reduction improvements.
- Support product launches with cross-functional team.
- Perform capacity analysis on manufacturing processes and interface with customers.
- Support defect investigation and defect reduction.
- Responsible for capacity type improvements, peak cycle reduction, line balance, change overs and other process improvements.
Qualified Applicants will possess the following:
- Current student, pursuing bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical, Quality Engineering or other equivalent engineering/mechanical technology.
- Possess an understanding of mechanical assembly and testing procedures.
- Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Skills:
- Working knowledge of motor controls and PLC’s.
- Ability to perform time and motion studies on manufacturing processes.
- Possess the ability to identify opportunities and implement improvements.
- Fluent in Excel, Word, Auto Cad and Solid Works. Working knowledge of Data Base and Visual Basic a plus.
- Must be able to work well in a core group atmosphere and be able to direct groups of people through Kaizen activities.
- Must be very “hands on” and be self-motivated.
- Have the ability to fabricate and do machining work.
