Intern for Victims Services (Summer 2025)

Are you a college student or recent college graduate seeking an internship for the Summer of 2025? If so, continue reading to learn more about this exciting opportunity. 


This posting is for a part time Summer Intern with Victims Compensation Services (VCS) at the North Carolina Department of Public Safety (DPS). This Internship is expected to start on May 19, 2025, and last until July 25, 2025. The work schedule is part time, up to 30 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm). The rate of pay is $18.00 per hour.

Responsibilities will include determining eligibility of compensable expenses submitted under the Crime Victims Compensation Commission. After training with VCS Staff, the intern will have the ability to obtain payment history and respond to victims who have claim eligibility questions by applying NCGS 15B to each case. 
 

About Victims Compensation Services (VCS): Victims Compensation Services reimburses citizens who suffer medical expenses and lost wages as a result of being an innocent victim of a crime committed in North Carolina. Victims of rape, assault, child sexual abuse, domestic violence and drunk driving, as well as the families of homicide victims, are eligible to apply for financial help.
