External Financial Reporting Intern

External Financial Reporting Function 

The External Reporting and Technical Accounting, led by FMC’s VP, Corporate Controller, is the authority within FMC on account matters and filings with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). We serve as an oversight organization with FMC, helping various company functions in aligning business and financial reporting requirements. 

 

Your internship will include working with business leaders, Financial, Planning and Analysis (FP&A) professionals and finance disciplines such as Legal, Tax and Treasury. You’ll also interact with the Consolidations/Reporting team and Accounting Operations to assist with the delivery of internal and external financial reporting. 

Your internship experience will also offer you the following opportunities: 

  • Involvement in the external reporting process
    • Help the team to ensure the timely completion of external reporting requirements, including SEC filing of the Form 10-K
    • Assist in the preparation of supporting documentation and footnote disclosures
    • Perform tasks related to compliance with internal controls over financial reporting requirements
  • Work closely with Supervising Senior Accountant of External Reporting and other professionals within the Controller’s Group
  • Work closely with the Global Consolidations team on various projects
  • Contribute fresh ideas and participate as a productive member of the department including attending weekly meetings and occasional networking events

Basic qualifications:

  • Student in an accredited undergraduate program
  • Fields of study: Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Information Technology
  • Sophomore or Junior prior to starting internship or a senior interested in the first post-graduate business experience
  • Academic good standing with GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Highly motivated with a desire to learn
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Must be able to work in Center City, Philadelphia, PA for the duration of the internship, and complete daily work commute using reliable transportation.
