Full Time: Year Round 260 days
Location: On-Site Position at Data Tech Center
Start Date: Spring 2025
Salary: Minimum $80,000.00, final salary determined on education and experience.
Description: The Data Systems Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of all educational data systems within the district. This includes student information systems (SIS), learning management systems (LMS), assessment platforms, and other related data systems. The Manager will ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security while supporting the district's instructional and operational needs. They will also engage in planning for enhancements and expansion as needed. This job requires the employee to physically work on location.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, computer science, information technology, or equivalent experience.
- Strong background in designing, managing, and maintaining administrative data systems, including SQL Server.
- Preferred experience working with educational data systems in a K-12 environment.
- Experience with data warehousing, data mining, and data visualization techniques.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as well as show leadership to a team.
- Certifications are encouraged, not required.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain district data systems.
- Provide leadership and support to the PLCS Data Team.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all systems.
- Oversees state and federal reporting compliance for students and staff, ensuring timely submission of all required data.
- Provide training and support to staff on the use of educational data systems.
- Stay current on best practices in educational data management and technology.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective data utilization.
- Extract, analyze, and interpret data from various sources to support instructional decision-making.
- Develop and generate reports for district administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders.
- Support the development and implementation of data-driven instructional practices.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access levels within all educational data systems.
- Implement and maintain robust data security measures to protect student and staff data.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal and state data privacy laws (e.g., FERPA, COPPA).
- Develop and maintain data security policies and procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues as they arise.
- Coordinate system upgrades and implementations.
- Serves as a leader within the Technology Department, collaborating with and supporting the Technology Leadership Team.
