Arts Intern: Regranting Program Intern at Andy Warhol Foundation
Background
In accordance with Andy Warhol’s will, the mission of The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts is the advancement of the visual arts. The Foundation manages an innovative and flexible grants program while also preserving Warhol’s legacy through creative and responsible licensing policies and extensive scholarly research for ongoing catalogue raisonné projects.
To date, the Foundation has given nearly $300 million in cash grants to over 1,000 arts organizations in 49 states and abroad and has donated 52,786 works of art to 322 institutions worldwide. Learn more at warholfoundation.org.
Regranting Program Intern Overview
The Regional Regranting Program (RRP) partners with local arts organizations around the country to make grants to artists and collectives for projects that chart new creative territory in their communities; participation is by invitation only. Each partner in the network creates its own program tailored to the specific needs and artistic identity of its region.
Established in 2007, the network is currently active in 32 cities and regions, supporting artists whose work falls outside the scope of traditional presenting organizations and/or funding opportunities. Projects supported by these grants have included queer zines, living room galleries, radical seafaring events, and virtual reality film screenings among other public-facing experimental activities.
The Regional Regranting Program Intern will work closely with the Foundation’s Regional Regranting Program Officer to assist with various tasks to help fortify and expand the Regranting Program’s impact. This internship intends to provide hands-on experience of the inner workings of the Foundation’s Regional Regranting Program, which supports under-the-radar, artist-led projects in 36 cities and regions across the U.S. and in Puerto Rico.
General Responsibilities
This position will assist and support:
Communications
- Monitor Regional Regranting Program email account
- Work with communication intern to manage the RRP Communications Form on Submittable
- Assist with polling and scheduling for program wide meetings
- Gather content and assets for Regranting newsletter on Mailchimp
Program Documentation and Archiving
- Maintain and edit the RRP Program archive on Airtable
- Update program spreadsheets tracking contact information and other relevant content
- Collect and digitally organize partner content for RRP profiles on the AWFVA website
- Perform digital audit for each program partner
- Manage program calendar with reporting deadlines
Special projects may include:
- Creating an Airtable Guide for Regranting Partners (ongoing)
- Program Accessibility Guide (ongoing)
- Supporting Program Officer with planning RRP Regional Gatherings for 2025 + 2026
- Maintaining Artist + Curator directory on Submittable
- Reading, compiling, and organizing archival program materials from 2007 - present.
- Gather and collect program materials from regranting partners (digital or physical, i.e., grantee/program catalogues, books, brochures, etc.)
- Researching and compiling program statistics
- Reading and writing assignment related to arts and grantmaking
Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications
- Current undergraduate (senior preferred) and/or experience equivalent
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent research skills and attention to detail
- Interest in the visual arts, arts administration, philanthropy, and/or network building
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite & Google Suite, Dropbox, and Canva
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to commit 28 hours/week in-person
Compensation
$22.50 per hour
INTERNS WILL WORK ONSITE 28 HOURS PER WEEK AND ATTEND A MANDATORY OFFSITE PROGRAM DAY ONE DAY PER WEEK WITH THEIR COHORT.

Workdays: 4 days per week, with remote flexibility
PROGRAM DAY:
On Fridays, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort
These hours are separate from the internship hours
